Up for sale is a breathtaking 1973 Gibson SG (Serial #110887) in immaculate, collector-grade condition (Mint / Closet Classic).
The original Cherry Red nitrocellulose finish has aged beautifully over the last 50+ years, fading into a rich, deep warm tone characteristic of 1970s Gibson red pigments. The guitar is extremely well-preserved: virtually zero belt buckle rash on the back, clean hardware, and frets with plenty of life.
Provenance & Historical Details: The back of the headstock features the original dealership badge from Musik Schaller in Kaiserslautern, Germany—the retail store owned by Helmut Schaller. Fits perfectly with the period-correct factory German “Harmonica” bridge (manufactured by Schaller for Gibson) and original Bigsby vibrato. A fascinating piece of vintage Gibson history.
